Andy Warhol was an American artist and leading figure in the visual art movement known as ‘’pop art’’. He’s mostly known for his multiple images of Campbell’s Soup cans, Coke bottles, dollar bills and celebrities. Warhol's art used many types of media, including hand drawing, painting, printmaking, photography, silk screening, sculpture, film, and music!
Warhol first created the banana design as an album cover for The Velvet Underground & Nico, where he devised a silkscreen image of a banana with a stick on peel that could be removed to expose the bare fruit. Later he used the same single yellow banana image and screenprinted it on piece of plastic that could also be pulled off, this time to reveal a red colored fruit.
Print is mounted and in a black glass frame size: 57,2 x 30,5 cm
